Hyfe pilot study tests a digital therapeutic combining passive cough monitoring with behavioral suppression techniques delivered through the CoughPro app.

This narrative review by Hyfe's R&D team makes the case that continuous cough monitoring (CCM), powered by acoustic AI, transforms cough from a subjective symptom into a quantifiable digital biomarker.

Independent ERS 2025 NeuroCOUGH trial uses the Hyfe Cough Tracker to test feasibility of studying azithromycin's effect on cough and oesophageal motility.

This Hyfe-authored pilot study evaluates a fully decentralized digital therapeutic that integrates passive cough monitoring with behavioral cough suppression education, delivered through the CoughPro smartphone app paired with the Hyfe CoughMonitor smartwatch. Participants with refractory or unexplained chronic cough complete a 7-day baseline monitoring period, then progress through digitally delivered education on behavioral cough suppression techniques and four weeks of guided practice, with hourly cough rate and cough bouts captured passively throughout. Preliminary data from 14 CoughPro users prior to this trial showed 28% and 31% reductions in baseline cough frequency and bouts respectively after introduction of the Cough Management feature, with no adverse events reported. The study is structured to validate these early observations and determine whether the data justify a randomized, sham-controlled clinical trial, advancing Hyfe's broader work to convert behavioral cough suppression therapy from a specialist-delivered service into a globally accessible digital therapeutic.
