Inhaled alkaline hypertonic divalent salts reduce refractory chronic cough frequency

This is an exploratory, single-blind, nasal saline-controlled study involving 12 patients with refractory chronic cough, designed to examine the cough suppression efficacy of alkaline salts, monitored objectively with the previous version of the Hyfe CoughMonitor Suite.

Solicited Cough Sound Analysis for Tuberculosis Triage Testing: The CODA TB DREAM Challenge Dataset

Describes & provides access to a large multi-country database of cough sounds from individuals being evaluated for TB. The dataset includes more than 700,000 cough sounds from 2,143 individuals with detailed demographic, clinical and microbiologic information.

Validation of the Hyfe cough monitoring system: a multicenter clinical study

This study demonstrates the overall performance of the Hyfe Cough Monitoring System when used by individuals with problematic cough, under common living conditions, to have a sensitivity of 90.4% and false positivity rate of only 1.03 cough per hour.

Leveraging Cough Sounds to Optimize Chest X-ray Usage in Low-resource Settings

This pilot study suggests that the acoustic pattern of a solicited cough can help to identify which patients are most likely to have abnormal chest radiographs. AI-enabled cough classification may become a routine tool used by front line healthcare personnel.

Predicting Tuberculosis from Real-World Cough Audio Recordings and Metadata

Results suggest mobile phone-based applications that integrate clinical symptoms and cough sound analysis could help community health workers and, most importantly, health service programs to improve TB case-finding efforts while reducing costs, which could substantially improve public health.

Feasibility and analysis considerations of continuous community-based cough monitoring in low- and middle-income settings

Continuous cough monitoring using a smartphone application is feasible in low- and middle-income country settings, as shown in this study with 568 participants with presumptive Tuberculosis that were monitored for cough frequency dynamics for at least 10 days.
